Steve Galloway
Chairperson
Steve has 40 years of working experience in exploration, mining, government, investments, corporate and project finance, banking and strategic management; and has served on boards of several financial and mining companies. Steve retired from banking in early 2017, but still serves on governing bodies of various banking, ICT, tourism, environmental, community and governance organisations and on selected policy committees.

Desmond Nikanor
Deputy Chairperson
Desmond Nikanor is an specialist Strategist and an experienced corporate Executive with a specific affinity for Strategic Management, High Performance culture establishment and Corporate governance across a number of sectors. Mr. Nikanor is a holds a Masters of Science degree in International Business from the University of London, specializing in International Management practices pertaining to strategy. He is a certified Director of Companies through the Institute of Directors for Southern Africa (IoDSA), as well as a certified Balanced Scorecard professional with the Balanced Scorecard Institute. Mr. Nikanor is also a certified Organisational Culture and Change practitioner with the Hofstede Insights institute of Helsinki, Finland.

Vincia Cloete
Executive Director
Vincia
is a Governance and Legal Practitioner, with the right of appearance in the
High Court of Namibia. Vincia’s
professional experience of over a decade in the corporate legal industry has
provided her the opportunity to understand and to offer board solutions to
troubled, as well as functional boards and organisations alike. Her key areas
of focus have been Corporate Governance, Commercial and Company Law,
Information & Communications Technology, and Intellectual Property Law.
Vincia
is a member of various professional bodies, such as the Namibia Institute of
Corporate Governance, the Law Society of Namibia, and the Southern African
Development Community (SADC) Lawyers Association. She serves as a Director on various
Boards, such as Nednamibia Life Assurance Company Limited and Nedplan Insurance
Brokers Namibia (Pty) Ltd, The Namibian Ports Authority, the Public Private
Partnership Committee, Law Society of Namibia Legal Ethics & Investigatory
Committee, SADC Lawyers Association (SADC LA) EXCO and Council, and the African
Legal Support Facility (ALSF) Academy Accreditation Committee. Vincia heads the
Namibia Institute of Corporate Governance since April 2021.
Vincia
is also a Thought Leader and has been a Columnist for The Namibian newspaper on
Corporate Governance issues. As an Author, she has co-authored a book with John
Nakuta in 2002, titled “The Justice
Sector and the Rule of Law in Namibia: The Criminal Justice System”. Moreover,
she has published her LL B Dissertation (passed with distinction), “The protection of refugees in Namibia: An
analysis of legal and policy framework in light of international refugee law”,
written under the auspices of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees
in 2009.
Vincia’s
educational background includes a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property Law (Cum Laude) from the Stellenbosch
University; and LL B, B Juris and B Accounting degrees from the University of
Namibia.
As
part of her social responsibility, Vincia offers mentorship to various young
adults and believes in undeclared, random acts of kindness. She also delivers motivational
talks on various platforms.
Karin Coetzee
Non- Executive Director
Ms Coetzee is an admitted legal practitioner as well as a sworn translator, and has been involved in the banking and insurance industry for 14 years. Ms Coetzee has an LLB degree and Postgraduate Diploma in Taxation (H.Dip Tax) from UNISA, as well as a Certificate in Money Laundering from University of Johannesburg. Her experience in corporate governance spans over 11 years, in her position as Company Secretary of Sanlam Namibia Ltd, a position which she currently still holds.

Tangeni Erkana
Non-Executive Director
A dynamically experienced and qualified general, risk and operations manager; Tangeni Matsidiso Erkana leverages insight and ability developed over the course of a high-impact 25+ year long career. Beginning in the finance & audit environment, Tangeni served on behalf of globally leading industry players [E&Y, PwC] in roles including; trainee accountant, senior accountant, assistant manager and forensics manager. In early 2011 Tangeni made a move into the insurance & financial services arena, serving as Operations Manager and Acting Head of Distribution for the Retail Mass Market Division of Old Mutual Namibia thereafter assuming accountability for the role of Risk Officer for AgriBank of Namibia.

Erenstine M Tuneeko
Non-Executive Director
Ms.
Tuneeko is an admtted legal practitioner and has worked for several public
enterprises as governance and legal advisor to the Board and management. Her
work experience includes public law, civil litigation and legal compliance.
Ms.
Tuneeko has a B. Iuris and LLB degrees from the University of Namibia.
Her experience in corporate governance
spans over 14 years and includes Board membership to the Namibia Press Agency
(NAMPA) where she is the Deputy-Chairperson.

Patrick Swartz
Non- Executive Director
Patrick
has more than 30 years of experience in accounting, financial management,
auditing, taxation, strategy, training, mentoring, planning and reporting,
serving the following industries and sectors: mining, finance, service,
manufacturing, fishing, transportation, local authorities, government,
non-profit making and SMEs.
On
1 April 2017, he became the founding Chairperson, Administrative Head (CEO) and
Member of the Central Procurement Board of Namibia. When his term ended on 31
March 2022, he returned to lecturing at Unam. Before this assignment, Patrick
served as Deputy Chairperson of the Tender Board of Namibia, Chairperson of the
Namibia Training Fund Council and trustee of Adonai Trust.
Apart
from lecturing management accounting, financial management and corporate
governance, Patrick mentors SMEs and CEOs, and he further provides training on
financial management and corporate governance topics. He is an Associate of the
Chartered Corporate Governance Institute.

Administrative Officer
Annette attends to day to day administrative affairs of the Institution. She is an Accounting major with more than 8 years of NGO administrative experience. Annette is passionate about leadership. She has attended a leadership course and obtained a certificate from the
African Leadership Institute.

Augusta Negongo
Marketing and Business Development Officer
Augusta is a graduate from the Institute of Marketing Management (IMM) - South Africa. She has more than 10 years experience in the Marketing and Trade Investment Industry. A proven leader who has the passion and dedication needed to drive new business. Augusta is charged with ensuring the growth in membership and maintaining relationship with the Members.
